July 12, 2023 Heroes Night at Friends of the Children-Colorado Springs An evening of fire engines, snacks, games and fun! A huge thank you to the community heroes who spent time with our children, their siblings and caregivers at the clubhouse on July 7! These heroes included nurse Daisy Nelson, retired Navy Captain Tim Reynolds, and Colorado Springs Fire Department’s Engine 8, B shift—John Giacoma (Company Officer), Kyle Gardner (Firefighter), Michael Olvera (Firefighter/Paramedic) and Robert Short (Driver). The rainy weather didn’t discourage the children from exploring the fire engine before playing games, eating pizza and having a good time in the clubhouse!
